“Where I’m From” I’m from my grandma’s banana bread, sugar cookies, fried dough, and the many colorful ice cream cones. I’m from homemade french fries, jello jigglers, and all the sandwiches my family made at Little King, which never seemed to get old. I’m from playing games like Uno, Sequence, and Monopoloy. Trying to win with all my might, I would do anything just to get the feeling of victory over my brother. I’m from Thumbalina, Polly Pockets, Barbies, Cabbage Patch Kids, and most of all, my Twin Doll. All those times we would stay up late just to feed and dress our dollies. I’m from Girls Scouts, Mini-kickers, clay class, and gymnastics. Going to Jr. Golf, swimming lessons, and the many dance classes were always my favorite. I’m from our trips to Orlando every other year to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Eeyore, Pooh, and Cinderella. I’m from the exciting trips to Kansas City every summer for a baseball game, and the fun filled days at the theme parks. I always looked forward to our random trips to Sioux Falls and Minneapolis for shopping just to get away. I’m from watching Out of the Box and Gullah Gullah Island every Saturday morning, and Full House, Zoom, and Doug after school. I’m from bowling, ice-skating, sleepovers, and crafts. I’m from my birthday parties every year at Garrity’s, where we would pick pumpkins, drink cider, and chase my brother. I’m from the many nights spent over at grandma’s house eating popcorn and fudge while watching movies. I’m from spending times with my family and friends. I’m from making memories every step of the way, and I’m from looking back at the past wishing I was young again.
